I just returned from a road trip to Kanas for a family reunion. On the way back, we stopped at Turner Falls in Davis, Oklahoma and swam in this breathtaking natural pool.

The Making of The Great Katsby {Video}
Katsby Creation Timelapse from James Pharaon on Vimeo.
This is a time lapse video showing the inking and coloring of The Great Katsby Sammy Bearkat illustration for Sam Houston State's Homecoming later this year. Enjoy, old sport!The Great Katsby {Illustration}
I just finished this image for Sam Houston State's 2014 Homecoming. Introducing... the Great Katsby!
When they contacted me a couple of months ago about this, I got REALLY excited because I knew EXACTLY what they wanted. And I'm very happy with how it turned out, old sport.
I really love that Sam Houston State has been having fun with its Homecoming themes the past few years, and I'm very thankful to play a part in it.

Casey H. {Senior}
A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to meet and photograph an awesome young gentleman - and I don't say that in an 'old fuddy duddy" kinda way. I mean this kid was a real gentleman.
Casey is a graduating senior at Tomball High School. He plays football, loves his truck, loves to hunt and loves his family (and it shows.)
This shoot was a lot of fun for so many reasons - trucks, guns, barns - it doesn't get much better than that! Plus, I accidentally rolled in cow poo and got chased by a bull. So there's that.
It was truly an honor to shoot these photos and to capture this snapshot in the timeline of this man's life. Congratulations on your graduation, Casey. You're going to do well in life.

Blue Pointing Timelapse {Illustration}
What did I do this morning, you ask? Just ink and color an illustration for Alvin Community College of their mascot, Blue. This timelapse spans about three hours worth of work.

Blue the Dolphin {Illustration}
Introducing Blue the Dolphin! Blue is the mascot for Alvin Community College in Alvin, Texas.
ACC wanted a cartoon character representation of their mascot and were familiar with the Sammy Bearkat work that I do for Sam Houston State. So a couple of months ago we set out to create a stylized Blue character for the school to use.
Blue was actually a really challenging character to create! Who knew that dolphins were so hard to draw and not make look like a duck????
But after dozens of drawings we finally found a good look for blue - friendly, yet tough with a sense of fun.
I look forward to working with ACC again in the future to further bring Blue to life!
